I have a big problem with Firefox addons (addons.mozilla.com). My toolbar has been on their website for quite a while and I recently wanted to update my toolbar to version 1.0.1.24 and they denied it saying the following:

"Mojabosna Toolbar 1.0.1.24 - Approval Denied
Your item, Mojabosna Toolbar 1.0.1.24, has been reviewed by a Mozilla
Update editor who took the following action:
Approval Denied

Your item was tested by Trevor Roydhouse using n/a on n/a.
Editor's Comments:
Your privacy policy needs work. You claim: "The statistics are
completely anonymous" but fail to mention that users are UNIQUELY identified
and the IP address is logged - hardly anonymous. You claim: "don't share
the specifics with anybody", but YOU DO - the so-called anonymous data
is sent to a THIRD PARTY server. Your privacy policy policy needs to
specify exactly WHAT information is being collected (you don't do this),
HOW it is being used (you don't do this) and WHO is collecting it (you
don't do this). Please fix and re-submit."

I have no idea what to do because I am not in charge of the privacy policy and they are now threatening to take my toolbar off their website. I think conduit needs to do some serious talking with mozilla if it is possible. How does this editor know all this stuff anyway? I am not even aware of this...

I dont seem to be having the same problems as you, can you host a privacy statement on your own site that goes more in-depth (i.e. - screenshot of the stats page, include some of the points the review made). The toolbar we have I made sure the privacy policy was hosted on our site and that seemed to help (http://subliminaldirections.org.uk/privacy1.html).

The only other thing I can think of is that you ask the the staff at conduit if they can give you a more detailed privacy statement, I've found them to be very helpful with any probs Smiley

Let us know how you get on please - Cheers - James :-)

Hey guys sorry i haven't been active for a while, i just submitted a new version of my toolbar and it was accepted, so i think that mozilla does accept the privacy policies as conduit made them. Good luck
